Rukometni klub Berane is a handball club from Berane, Montenegro. RK Berane is former champion of Montenegro. History RK Berane was formed in 1949, under the name ''ORK Ivangrad''. For the first time in history, Berane gained promotion to the First League at the 1995, under the name ''Raj Banka''. During the start of the 21st century, Berane became permanent member of the First League of Serbia and Montenegro. After the Montenegrin independence, Berane played in the Montenegrin First League. Their biggest success was the title of national championship in the season 2007/08. A year earlier, RK Berane became the winner of the first season of Montenegrin Cup. Due to financial problems and the destruction of their stadium in February of 2012,Berane was relegated from the First League after the season 2012/13. The Montenegrin Second League of Men's Handball is the lower Men's handball league in Montenegro. It is organized by the Handball Federation of Montenegro. The league has seven teams. It's one and the lower of the three official men's handball competitions in Montenegro - other are Montenegrin First League and Cup of Montenegro. The winner of the Second League gets promotion to the First League. Second placed team is playing playoffs against seventh placed team from the First League. Affiliated to the EHA, London GD Handball Club currently has 3 men's and 2 women's competitive handball teams in both the English National and Regional leagues, as well as a Youth Development Programme in place to generate Junior squads. The club which was formerly known as London Great Dane was founded in 1976. Club history London GD Handball Club was previously known as Great Dane Handball Club, and was founded by Anne-Marie Thrysoe and Andrew Ferguson. Established in 1976 by a group of Danish girls involved with the Anglo-Danish Society Students Club, thereof the name of the club, "Great Dane". Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. Alem Toskić (; born 12 February 1982) is a Serbian handball coach and former player. Club career In his home country, Toskić played for Fidelinka and Partizan (2004–2005), before moving abroad. He would go on to play for Zagreb (2005–2007), Celje (2007–2013), Vardar (2013–2016), Gorenje Velenje (2016–2018) and Csurgói KK (2018–2020). International career Toskić represented Serbia and Montenegro at the 2005 World Championship and 2006 European Championship. Darko Stanić (; born 8 October 1978) is a Serbian/Qatari former handball player for the Al Rayyan and the Qatari national team. He was dubbed the " Minister of Defence" due to his performances for the Serbia. Club career After making his EHF Champions League debut with Crvena zvezda, Stanić moved abroad to Switzerland and joined TV Suhr in early 2005. He spent the next season at fellow Swiss club Grasshoppers. In April 2006, Stanić tested positive for cocaine after a play-off match with St. Gallen. He consequently received a six-month ban from handball. However, the ban was eventually extended for a period of two years, starting on 22 May 2006. RK Tineks Prolet (HC Tineks Prolet) ( mk, РК Тинекс Пролет) is a team handball club from Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia. Currently, they compete in the Macedonian Handball Super League. The added name Tineks name comes from the Tinex supermarket which supports the team, while their original name Prolet is after the Skopje settlement of Prolet. The club's main rival was RK Jug, now a defunct club who was from the neighboring settlement of Muchurin. The team used to play in an open arena located in the settlement of Prolet, but after its dissolution changed few handball arenas around Skopje as Avtokomanda in the same called settlement and Rasadnik in Kisela Voda.
