R. C. McDonough
Russell Charles "R. C." McDonough (December 7, 1924 – April 3, 2018) was a justice of the Montana Supreme Court from 1987 to 1993. Early life and career Born in Glendive, Montana, McDonough enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces in 1942, to serve in World War II. After the war, he attended Montana State University and received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 1949. He served as the Glendive City Attorney and Dawson County Attorney and was a delegate to the 1972 Montana Constitutional Convention. He was elected district judge in the seventh judicial district in 1982, serving in that capacity until May 1987, when Governor Ted Schwinden appointed McDonough to a seat on the Montana Supreme Court. Montana Supreme Court
The Montana Supreme Court is the supreme court, highest court of the state court system in the U.S. state of Montana. It is established and its powers defined by Article VII of the 1972 Montana Constitution. It is primarily an appellate court which reviews civil and criminal decisions of Montana's trial courts of general jurisdiction and certain specialized legislative courts, only having original jurisdiction in a limited number of actions. Glendive, Montana
Glendive is a city in and the county seat of Dawson County, Montana, United States, and home to Dawson Community College. Glendive was established by the Northern Pacific Railway during the building of the railroad line. The town of Glendive is an agricultural and ranching hub of eastern Montana sited between the Yellowstone River and the Badlands. Makoshika State Park is located just east of Glendive. Marc Racicot (; born July 24, 1948) is an American attorney, lobbyist, and former Republican politician who served as the 21st governor of Montana from 1993 until 2001. After leaving office, Racicot worked as a lobbyist for the law firm Bracewell & Giuliani. His notable clients included Enron, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and the Recording Industry Association of America. He was chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2001 until 2003, when he was appointed as the chairman of the Bush re-election campaign. In 2000 as well as 2004 he was rumored to be Bush's choice for United States Attorney General. During the 2000 election, some saw him as a possible running mate for Bush. Ted Schwinden
Theodore Schwinden (August 31, 1925 – October 7, 2023) was an American politician from Montana. He was the 19th governor of Montana from 1981 to 1989. He had previously served as the 26th lieutenant governor of Montana and as a member of the Montana House of Representatives. Biography Theodore Schwinden was born in Roosevelt County, Montana, on his family's farm on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation between Wolf Point, Montana, Wolf Point and Poplar, Montana, Poplar. Schwinden was a valedictorian at his high school. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in both the European and Pacific theaters in World War II. He left the army in 1946.
