R.J. Adams
R. J. Adams, also known as Bob Shannon (September 20, 1942 – January 26, 2015), was a Canadian-American film and television actor, acting coach, screen writer, film producer, documentary producer and radio personality. Beginnings Adams was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, where he spent his early childhood, until his family headed across the border to Niagara Falls, New York. Known to his friends as Bob Adams, the aspiring actor/radio DJ spent just a couple of years attending Bishop Duffy High School before dropping out and moving to New York City at the age of 17 to study acting. Upon his arrival on the west coast, he landed a job as a page at NBC Burbank which led to a radio job in Phoenix and ultimately a twenty-five-year career in broadcasting as Bob Shannon. Rob Adams (born Robert Lee Adams II; February 27, 1970) is an American actor, owner of The Actors Workshop, film acting coach, offensive coordinator at Tesoro High School and former college football quarterback. Early years Adams was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to actor/radio personality R. J. Adams and documentary producer Diane C. Adams. After finishing college Adams briefly coached football before following in his father's footsteps as an actor/film acting coach. In 1992, Adams took it upon himself to terminate a disruptive teacher and at the same time dismissed several students from the program. As a result, he was made a full partner in the ownership of The Actors Workshop. WTAM (1100 AM broadcasting, AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Cleveland, Ohio, that airs a news/talk and sports radio format, commonly known as "Newsradio WTAM 1100". KPXQ (1360 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station, airing a Christian talk and teaching radio format. It is licensed to Glendale, Arizona, and serves the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is owned by Salem Media Group with studios on East Camelback Road in Phoenix. By day, KPXQ is powered at 50,000 watts non-directional, the highest output for commercial AM stations. But to protect other stations on 1360 AM from interference, at night it reduces power to 500 watts and uses a directional antenna. KUTY (1470 AM, "Hermosa 1470") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Palmdale, California, United States and serves the Antelope Valley area. Allen Leonard McCoy (April 26, 1933 – September 21, 2024) was an American sportscaster who was the play-by-play announcer for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association from 1972 to 2023. The 2022–23 Phoenix Suns season, 2022–23 NBA season was his 51st and final season. He is the longest-tenured broadcaster in NBA history.
