Quirino Awards
The Quirino Awards, known in Spanish as Premios Quirino de la Animación Iberoamericana ("Quinino Awards for Ibero-American animation") are an annual awards ceremony dedicated to reward achievements in Ibero-American animated productions. Its categories recognize feature films, short films and television productions. The awards were established in 2017, with the first awards ceremony taking place on 7 April 2018 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Since then, the ceremony has usually taken place in May of each year during several days in some location within Tenerife. The awards' name is in honour of Italian-Argentinian animation director Quirino Cristiani, known for being responsible of the 1917 film ''El Apóstol'', considered the world's first animated feature film. Ibero-America
Ibero-America ( es, Iberoamérica, pt, Ibero-América) or Iberian America is a region in the Americas comprising countries or territories where Spanish or Portuguese are predominant languages (usually former territories of Portugal or Spain). ''Lila's Book'' ( es, El libro de Lila) is a 2017 Colombian-Uruguayan animated fantasy adventure film written and directed by Marcela Rincón González, and produced by sister Maritza Rincón González. Produced by their Fosfenos Media and Palero Estudio, ''Lila's Book'' was the first animated feature film in Colombia to be directed by a woman. It was released in Colombian cinemas on 28 September 2017. Premise Lila, a character from a children's book, suddenly gets outside of her paper world, becoming trapped in the real world. She soon figures that Ramón, the boy who used to read the book she was in years ago, is the only one who can save her. Alberto Vázquez (artist)
Alberto Vázquez Rico is a Spanish ( Galician) comic book artist and filmmaker born in A Coruña in 1980. He has received three Goya Awards for his animated films. His most famous work is '' Birdboy: The Forgotten Children'', a feature-length animated movie based on his own graphic novel. He is also a drummer in the ''Mano de obra'' band. Career He studied on University of Vigo and University of Valencia. One of the co-founders of Polaqia comic-book creators group, he published his first album in 2002. His comic books include ''Freda'' (2003, with Kike Benlloch), ''Psiconautas'' (2006) and ''El evangelio de Judas'' (2007). Paper Port (Spanish: ''Puerto Papel'') is a 2016 animated television series produced by Zumbastico Studios. The series blends stop-motion and 2D animation with papercraft characters and environments, in a technique called ''Papermotion''. The series was co-produced by the channels Televisión Nacional de Chile (Chile), Pakapaka (Argentina), Gloob (Brazil), and Señal Colombia.
