Queronque Rail Accident
The Queronque rail accident was a head-on train collision that happened on February 17, 1986, on the line between Santiago and Valparaíso in Chile. It is the worst in Chilean history, killing at least 58 people. Limache
Limache is a Chilean town and township in the Marga Marga Province, Valparaíso Region. Limache is the only township of Chile that has two urban areas: San Francisco de Limache on the north side of the Pelumpén stream, and Limache Viejo on the south side. Los Andes, Chile
Los Andes, founded on July 31, 1791 as Santa Rosa de Los Andes, is a Chilean city and commune located in the province of the same name, in Valparaíso Region ("Fifth Region" of Chile). Valparaíso Metro
The Valparaíso Metro ( es, Metro Valparaíso, formerly called "Merval") is the commuter rail system serving the urban conglomeration of Gran Valparaíso, Chile. It consists of one line, long, serving 20 stations, connecting the cities of Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Quilpué, Villa Alemana, and Limache (outside the Valparaíso conurbation). Estación Mapocho
Estación Mapocho is a former railway station that, since 1994, has been refitted as a cultural centre that hosts many kinds of events. History The design and construction of the station began in 1905 at the hands of Emilio Jecquier, a Chilean architect based in France. The 280-metre-long, 17-metre-high structure was composed of a base of masonry and a steel vault covered in glass (now copper). AES Railcar
The AES (Automotor Eléctrico Suburbano) is an electric passenger railcar that has been in use in Chile since 1977, originally with Ferrocarril del Norte, and later for MERVAL, the Valparaiso region metro system. Marga Marga Province ( es, Provincia de Marga Marga) is one of the eight provinces in the central Chilean region of Valparaíso (V). Its capital is the city of Quilpué.
