Quebec Route 218
Route 218 is a two-lane east/west highway in Quebec, Canada. Its western terminus is at the junction of Route 132 in Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets and its eastern terminus is in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse at the junction of Route 281. Route description From Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets to its junction with Autoroute 20, it runs southeasterly (except from a brief northeastern-bound concurrency with Route 226) until it reaches the Bécancour River, which it follows West on its North shore until Lyster, where it shares a concurrency with Route 116. From there it turns northeasterly toward a concurrency with Route 271 in Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière and its junction with Route 269 between Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage and Saint-Gilles, with both routes following the Beaurivage River downstream before separating at Saint-Gilles, where Route 218 crosses the river toward Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, where it crosses the Chaudière River. Etchemin River
The Etchemin River is a river in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of eastern Quebec. It gave its name to Les Etchemins Regional County Municipality. The river itself was named for the Abenaki native people of the area who the French called "les Etchemins." The source of the river is not Etchemin Lake but a little east of the lake, in Saint-Luc-de-Bellechasse. The Etchemin River, which had become been the victim of pollution for decades, became the topic of conversation in 1993, when a few residents of Saint-Léon-de-Standon began work on a project to revive the Atlantic salmon in the river. The project was scoffed at in the beginning since damming and logging along the Etchemin's shore and agricultural runoff and dumping had polluted the river so much that Atlantic salmon had been last seen there two centuries earlier. Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse, Quebec
Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse is a village with a population of 2,159 (2006 Census), established about 20 km southeast of Lévis in 1749, in the Bellechasse Regional County Municipality. Its total area is 93.12 km2. It is a rural community, with several notable businesses such as Meuble Idéal, Prodel (Cuisichef), Georges Laflamme Home Hardware, Aliments Breton, Unicoop and many small enterprises. It is also the home of the École secondaire Saint-Charles high school. The Boyer River, CN Railway, road 218 and road 279 cross the municipality. Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon is a municipality in La Nouvelle-Beauce Regional County Municipality in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 6,177 as of the Canada 2011 Census. Prior to June 22, 2013 it was a parish municipality. It is named after Pierre Lambert, a land surveyor who planned neighbouring Lévis. Lauzon refers to the ''seigneurie'' of Lauzon, the first to be established on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River in 1636.
