Quds 1
The Quds are a family of Iranian cruise missiles, primarily used to attack land based targets. Quds-1 Quds-1, designated '351' by the US Government, is a land-attack cruise missile used by Houthi movement in Yemen. The Houthis claim that they have developed it themselves, but some sources disagree. Design According to missile expert Fabian Hinz it could be a copy of the Iranian Soumar missile or the Russian Kh-55. However, the size of the missile is smaller than the Iranian one, and its range is much shorter due to having less room aboard for fuel, and due to being a ground-launched rather than an air-launched cruise missile. He added that there are differences between the Soumar missile and the Quds-1 missile like "the entire booster design, the wing position, the Quds 1's fixed wings, the shape of the nose cone, the shape of the aft fuselage, the position of the stabilizers and the shape of the engine cover and exhaust". Houthi Insurgency In Yemen
The Houthi insurgency, also known as the Houthi rebellion, the Sa'dah Wars, or the Sa'dah conflict, was a military rebellion pitting Zaidi Shia Houthis (though the movement also includes Sunnis) against the Yemeni military that began in Northern Yemen and has since escalated into a full-scale civil war. The conflict was sparked in 2004 by the government's attempt to arrest Hussein al-Houthi, a Zaidi religious leader of the Houthis and a former parliamentarian on whose head the government had placed a $55,000 bounty. Abha International Airport Attack
The Abha International Airport attacks were cruise missile attacks carried out by the Yemeni Houthi rebels which occurred in June 2019. The attack targeted the arrivals hall of Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia and killed one civilian and injured 47 others. The Saudi-led coalition stated that an Iranian made Ya Ali cruise missile had been used in the attack, but ''Jane's Defence Weekly'' later reported that a Yemeni made Quds cruise missile may have been used because of its similarity to the fins recovered from the debris. The first attack occurred on 19 June and wounded 26. The second attack, a drone strike, occurred on June 23, killing a Syrian national and wounding 21 and yet another two days later on June 25. Ya-Ali (missile)
The Ya-Ali (Persian: یاعلی) is an air-launched cruise missile (ALCM) built by Iran. The missile was first unveiled on 11 May 2014 when Iranian leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei visited the Aerospace Force of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution. According to Janes Defence, the missile has a jet engine inlet and possibly uses a version of the Toloue-4 turbojet or different Toloue 10 or 13 engines Iran produces for its longer-range anti-ship missiles and it is reported to have a range of 700 km.
