Qiao (surname)
Qiáo () is the 96th most common last name in China. The Qiaos are descendants of the Jī (surname), Ji (姬) family. This name was named after a mountain. According to the legend, the ancient king Yellow Emperor, Huang Di was buried in mountain of Qiao Shan (Huangling County, Huangling in Shaanxi). Liu Shunyao (; 1939 – 30 December 2002) was a Chinese pilot and general of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). He served as commander of the Lanzhou Military Region Air Force, deputy commander of the PLAAF (1994–1996), and commander of the PLAAF (1996–2002). Early life and career Liu was born in 1939 in Zhaoyuan, Shandong, Republic of China. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army in 1958 and joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1961.
