Qiandaohu Class Replenishment Ship
The Type 903 combined replenishment ship ( zh, 903型综合补给舰, NATO reporting name: ''Fuchi'') is a class of replenishment oiler (AOR) built for the People's Liberation Army Navy, serving as a principal naval fleet, fleet auxiliary ship for blue-water navy, blue-water expeditionary missions by the People's Republic of China. They resemble , an AOR built by China for Thailand delivered in 1996. Two original-design Type 903s entered service in 2003. Construction of the Type 903A (NATO reporting name: ''Fuchi II''), a slightly modified design, began in 2010; the first Type 903As entered service in 2013, and a total of eight ships are currently in service. Development According to Zhang Gang, chief designer of ''Similan'', China started development of a new AOR in 1988. ''Gaoyouhu'' (904) is a Type 903A replenishment ship of the People's Liberation Army Navy. Development and design Type 903 integrated supply ship (NATO called Fuchi-class supply ship) is a new large-scale integrated supply ship of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy, designed by Zhang Wende. The later improved model is called 903A. The difference with 903 is that the displacement has increased from 20,530 tons to 23,000 tons. All 9 ships have been built and are in service. The ship is a new generation of large-scale ocean-going integrated supply ship in China. Its supply equipment has been greatly improved compared to the earlier Type 905 integrated supply ship. North Sea Fleet
The North Sea Fleet (NSF; ), concurrently the Northern Theater Command Navy (), is one of the three fleets of China's People's Liberation Army Navy. Headquartered in Qingdao, Shandong, the fleet provides naval forces to the Northern Theater Command. In September 1950, the Qingdao Army Base was redesignated as a naval base. South Sea Fleet
The Southern Theater Command Navy (STCN), or the South Sea Fleet (SSF) until 2018, is a formation of China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) and the naval component of the Southern Theater Command. History In December 1949, the Fourth Field Army transferred personnel from the 15th Army to create the Guangdong Military Region Riverine Defense Command. The Riverine Defense Command commanded the Wanshan Archipelago Campaign in May to August 1950 and was the "nucleus" of the South Central China Military Region Navy created by the Fourth Field Army in December 1950. East Sea Fleet
The Eastern Theater Command Navy (东部战区海军, ETCN) is a formation of China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) and the naval component of the Eastern Theater Command. The Type 905 (NATO reporting name: ''Fuqing'') is a class of replenishment oiler (AOR) built for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) by the People's Republic of China (PRC). They were the first ships built to perform underway replenishment in the PLAN. Four Type 905s were built. The three PLAN ships began entering service by the early 1980s.
