Qian Xiuling
Qian Xiuling (1912–2008), or Siou-Ling Tsien de Perlinghi, was a Chinese-Belgian scientist who won a medal for saving nearly 100 lives during World War II in Belgium. She had a street named after her and a 16-episode TV drama was made of her life for Chinese television. Yixing
Yixing () is a county-level city administrated under the prefecture-level city of Wuxi in southern Jiangsu province, China, and is part of the Yangtze River Delta. The city is known for its traditional Yixing clay ware tea pots. It is a pene-exclave with Changzhou. The city spans an area of , and has a registered hukou population of about 1,075,800 as of 2020. History During the Xia dynasty and the Shang dynasty, the area fell under the jurisdiction of Yangzhou and was known as Jingxi (). Zhang Qiyue (; born October 1959) is a retired Chinese diplomat who served as ambassador to Belgium (2005–08), Indonesia (2008–12), and Greece (2018–21). She is a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Biography Zhang was born in Beijing in October 1959, to Zhang Shu, and Xue Runwu (), both diplomats. In 1974, Zhang and four other students were selected and sent to the United States to study English, becoming the first batch of students from the People's Republic of China to study in the United States.
