Qee
Qee (pronounced "key") are a collection of designer toys created by Hong Kong-based company Toy2R, which was founded by Raymond Choy in 1995. Figure Qee figures vary in their design. The original Qee has a body that resembles an extremely simplified human form, somewhat similar in appearance to Playmobil or Minifigure, LEGO figures, though distinctively round and squat. Depending on its theme, a figure may have the head of a bear with Asymmetry, asymmetrical ears called a ''BearBearQ;'' a cat called ''KitCatQ;'' a dog called ''DoggyQ;'' a monkey called ''MonQ;'' or a rabbit called ''Bunee''. The ''Toyer'' Qee has the same body type as the original, but a head that resembles a cartoon skull. Designer Toys
Art toys, also called designer toys, are toys and collectibles created by artists and designers that are either self-produced or made by small, independent toy companies, typically in very limited editions. Artists use a variety of materials, such as ABS plastic, Polyvinyl chloride, vinyl, wood, metal, latex, plush, and resin. Creators often have backgrounds in graphic design, illustration, or fine art, but many accomplished toy artists are self-taught. The first art toys appeared in the 1990s in Hong Kong and Japan. By the early 2000s, the majority of art toys were based upon characters created by popular Lowbrow (art movement), Lowbrow artists, linking the two movements. Toy2R (abbreviation of Toy to Raymond) is a designer toy company based in Hong Kong that was founded by Prof. Raymond Choy M.H. in 1995. History Raymond Choy spent 10 years as an employee of an American footwear company, developing many useful skills in business. Following his dream of combining his hobby with his career, Choy pursued a business degree and studied design. Choy opened a toy store in 1995. Four years later, Choy observed a recent trend in collectible toys, now known as designer toys, specifically the urban vinyl movement of toy design. Devo is an American new wave band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1973. The name is derived from the fact that the figure is a cartoon-style representation of a bear and that it is a variation of MediCom's Kubrick design.
