Qala Saints F.C.
Qala Saints Football Club is a football club from the village of Qala in Gozo, Malta. The club was founded in 1968 and is named after the village patron Saint Joseph. They play in the Gozo Football League. The team's traditional colours are maroon and light blue. The nicknames used for the players are the "Maroons" or "The Saints". Qala Saints's main rivals are Nadur Youngsters along with Għajnsielem In the summer of 2010, the club changed its name to Qala Saints. History The Maroons have never been main contenders for the top honours in Gozo in the past. Shaun Bajada
Shaun Pierre Bajada (born 19 August 1983 in Sannat, Gozo, Malta) is a professional footballer currently playing for Victoria Hotspurs on loan from Xewkija Tigers, where he most frequently plays as a midfielder. Playing career Floriana As a boy he had won many honours with his native village club Sannat Lions, but was a product of Floriana. Shaun made his debut with Floriana in the Maltese Premier League in the season 2000–01. During a career spanning four seasons with Floriana, Shaun made 48 appearances and scored three goals. Nadur () is an administrative unit of Malta, located in the eastern part of the island of Gozo. Nadur is built on a plateau and is one of the largest localities in Gozo. Known as the 'second city', it spreads along a high ridge to the east of Victoria. It had a population of 4,509 as of March 2014. The word is derived from the Arabic word ‘nadara’, which means 'lookout', pretty much having the same meaning as its motto ‘Vigilant’. The motto appears in Nadur’s coat of arms that shows the sun coming up from blue seas. The town is famous for its bakeries. Għajnsielem (; meaning "Spring of Sielem") is a municipality on the southeastern coast of the island of Gozo in Malta, including the entire island of Comino. It has a population of 3,200 residents (as of March 2014), and is the first Gozitan village that greets the visitor on leaving Mġarr Harbour towards the Gozitan heartland. Its name originated from the water spring, around which in 1700, Grandmaster Perellos built an arcade containing public wash basins and fresh water spouts.
