The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (french: link=no, 1=Premier ministre de la République démocratique du Congo, sw, 1=Waziri Mkuu wa Jamhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Kongo, ln, 1=Minisele ya Yambo wa Republiki ya Kɔ́ngɔ Demokratiki) is the head of government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Constitution of the Third Republic grants the Prime Minister a significant amount of power. The post is currently occupied by Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde. He is the successor to Sylvestre Ilunga, who was removed from office on 29 January 2021. Arms Of The Democratic Republic Of The Congo
The arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has changed several times since 1997. The current one was introduced in 2006 and depicts a leopard head, surrounded by an elephant tusk to the left and a spear to the right. Below are the three words which make up the national motto: ''Justice, Paix, Travail'' (''Justice, Peace, Work'' in French). It was adopted on 18 February 2006 by President Joseph Kabila. The arms are described in detail in Section 1, Article 1 of the 2005 constitution. The old emblem, which was introduced in 2003, depicted three interlocked hands surrounded by two laurel branches. At the top is a lion head and at the bottom the motto ''Démocratie, Justice, Unité'' (''Democracy, Justice, Unity'' in French). The National Assembly is the lower house and main legislative political body of the Parliament of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was established by the 2006 constitution. It is located at the People's Palace (french: link=no, Palais du Peuple) in Kinshasa. The most recent National Assembly was sworn in on January 28, 2019. Zaire (, ), officially the Republic of Zaire (french: République du Zaïre, link=no, ), was a Congolese state from 1971 to 1997 in Central Africa that was previously and is now again known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Zaire was, by area, the third-largest country in Africa (after Sudan and Algeria), and the 11th-largest country in the world. International Association of the Congo Prior to the creation of the Congo Free State, the International Association of the Congo (IAC) had signed treaties with over 300 native Congolese chiefs and in effect exercised sovereignty over a large area of the Congo Basin.
