Páll Mohr Joensen
Páll Mohr Joensen is a Faroese footballer who plays for HB Tórshavn. In 2005, he joined NSÍ Runavík on loan until the end of the season. In the following season HB were expelled from the Faroe Islands Cup because Joensen was not eligible to play for HB in the first round match, due to HB not having the correct player certificate for Joensen after his loan at NSÍ. But HB were later reinstated. He missed much of the 2010 season while away travelling around Europe. Havnar Bóltfelag (HB, Literal translation, lit. 'Harbour Football Club') is a Faroe Islands, Faroese professional association football, football club, and is one of the oldest in the Faroe Islands. The club was founded in 1904, and is based in the city of Tórshavn. Home matches are played in Gundadalur and they compete in the Faroe Islands Premier League. The full name of the club is "Havnar Bóltfelag Tórshavn", which means "Port Football Club". The club was founded by port workers. History HB Tórshavn was founded in October 1904. Faroe Islands National Football Team
The Faroe Islands national football team (, ) represents the Faroe Islands in men's international football, and is governed by the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF). The FSF became a member of FIFA in 1988 and UEFA in 1990 and represents the fourth-smallest UEFA country by population. The team has never advanced to the finals of the FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship. They took part in the Island Games in 1989 and 1991 and won both tournaments. The team also took part in the Nordic Football Championship for the first time in 2000–01, the last time the competition was played. Faroese People
Faroese people or Faroe Islanders (; ) are an ethnic group native to the Faroe Islands. The Faroese are of mixed Norse and Gaelic origins. About 21,000 Faroese live in neighbouring countries, particularly in Denmark, Iceland and Norway. Most Faroese are citizens of the Kingdom of Denmark, in which the Faroe Islands are a constituent nation. The Faroese language is one of the North Germanic languages and is closely related to Icelandic and to western Norwegian varieties. NSÍ Runavík
NSÍ Runavík is a Faroe Islands, Faroese professional association football, football club, playing in Runavík on the island of Eysturoy. It was founded 24 March 1957. In 2003 NSÍ participated for the first time on a European stage. In 2007, the club won the Faroe Islands Premier League for the first time. The club has won the Faroe Islands Cup in 1986, 2002 and 2017. Aside from these instances, NSÍ Runavík featured in the 1980, 1985, 1988, 2004 and 2015 tournament finals. The club plays in yellow and black. Their stadium (Runavík Stadium, Við Løkin) has a capacity of 2,000. The Faroe Islands Cup (, literally the Prime Minister Cup) is the main football cup competition in the Faroe Islands. The first edition was played in 1955. History The HB–TB decade The first decade of the competition was marked by the alternance of titles between HB and TB. Only in its eleventh year, the cup saw a different champion, with B36 defeating rivals HB in the final. Subsequent years In the subsequent editions, the other former finalists also got their first titles; KÍ in 1966, and VB in 1974. 1970 was the only time a final was not played, as the Faroe Islands Sports Association (ÍSF) choose to annul the competition after KÍ, and later VB, refused to play against HB in Tórshavn.
