He is the co-founder and the main composer of the band The Kovenant, for which he plays guitars and keyboards as well as write orchestrations. Theatre of Tragedy was a Norwegian band from Stavanger, active between 1993 and 2010. They are best known for their earlier albums, which influenced the gothic metal genre. ''Some Kind of Heroin'' is the first remix album by Norwegian solo artist Mortiis. The album is a collection of remixes of songs taken from Mortiis' previous album ''The Grudge''. In a press release Mortiis has said: I'm really stoked we finally got to do a remix album and since it's been in process for quite some time now I'm happy to be able to finally release it. I've always been fascinated with taking songs and twisting them into something different, the ability to grab the elements you like and put them into a totally different environment. The flexibility of that really appeals to me. I think the mixes all those guys did came out really cool, many of them vastly different from what would have come out of the studio if I had done them. Mortiis
Mortiis is an Electronic music, electronic band from Notodden, Norway fronted by Håvard Ellefsen, who is also known as the namesake of the band. The name is a misspelling of the word "mortis", which is the pronunciation used by the band. Mortiis started as the solo project of Ellefsen as a means to convey a story. This aspect was lost over time and Mortiis slowly formed into a band. Ellefsen previously played bass in the black metal band Emperor (Norwegian band), Emperor (1991–1992), prior to forming this project in 1993.
