Pyon Deiye
Pyon Rohan Emage Rayham Deiye is a Nauruan politician. Career Deiye was appointed as a trainee assistant flight service officer on 13 May 1996. He later became Director of Foreign Affairs Aid Coordinator. On 8 July 2006, Deiye was appointed as Acting Secretary for Foreign Affairs in the place of Jesaulenko Dowiyogo. Deiye later became Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs & Trade. He served as acting Secretary for Foreign Affairs & Trade in April 2008. Dieye unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the Nauruan parliament in the 2016 election. Deiye was successfully elected to parliament in the Anabar Constituency, alongside Maverick Eoe, in the 2019 election. On 28 August 2019, President Lionel Aingimea appointed Deieye as Deputy Minister for Health and Medical Services, Telecommunication and Media, as well as the Cenpac Corporation. Russ Joseph Kun (born 8 September 1975) is a Nauruan politician who served as President of Nauru from being elected in the 2022 presidential election to October 2023. He has served as a member of parliament for Ubenide since 2013. Biography Kun was born on 8 September 1975. He served as a scrutineer for the 2003 and 2004 general elections. He served as acting Secretary for the Ministry of Commerce Industry & Resources in 2005. He served as acting Chief Secretary in 2008 and as acting Secretary of Home Affairs in 2012. Prior to entering Parliament, he worked for the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment. The Nauru Rehabilitation Corporation is a state-owned enterprise established by the Nauru, Republic of Nauru in May 1999, following the passing of the Nauru Rehabilitation Corporation Act in July 1997. Its primary mission is to rehabilitate land destroyed by the Economy of Nauru, phosphate industry, both before and after its independence, making them once again economically useful to the small island-nation. 2022 Nauruan Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Nauru on 24 September 2022 to elect all 19 members of parliament. All candidates were elected on a non-partisan basis. Following the election, Russ Kun, a member of parliament for Ubenide, was elected president by parliament.
