Pushpa Joshi (1932/1933 – 2019) was an Indian actress who gained recognition for her Bollywood debut at the age of 85 in the film Raid (2018), starring Ajay Devgn. she became one of the oldest debutantes in Hindi cinema. Early life Born around 1932 in Madhya Pradesh, India. She was from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, at the time of her acting debut. Acting career Joshi’s entry into Bollywood was unconventional. She was discovered by the makers of Raid after appearing in a short film called Zaayka. In Raid, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, she played the role of Saurabh Shukla’s mother, a character inspired by events tied to Sardar Inder Singh’s 1981 income tax raid in Kanpur. Her performance was widely praised for its authenticity and liveliness, earning her admiration from co-stars, including Ajay Devgn, who ensured her comfort on set by prioritizing her shooting schedules.
