Purple Line Express
The Purple Line of the Chicago "L" is a route on the northernmost section of the system. The service normally begins from in Wilmette and ends at on Chicago's north border, passing through the city of Evanston. During weekday rush hours, the Purple Line extends another south on the North Side Main Line from Howard to downtown Chicago running express from Howard to , with a single stop at , and then making all local stops from Belmont to the Loop. The express service is known as the Purple Line Express (or the Evanston Express). In 2024, the average weekday boardings on the Purple Line was 4,904. Main is an Chicago "L", 'L' station on the Chicago Transit Authority, CTA's Purple Line (CTA), Purple Line at 836 Chicago Avenue in Evanston, Illinois (directional coordinates 900 north, 732 west). It is near the Evanston Main Street station, Main Street station of Metra's Union Pacific North Line. The current station has been in place since 1908, with only little renovation to the station since then, most notably a 90-foot extension of the platform in 1997 so that a motorman in the front car could see all doors stopped at the station (the platform had curved at one end previously). Yellow Line (CTA)
The Yellow Line, also known as the Skokie Swift, is a branch of the Chicago "L" train system in Chicago, Illinois. The route runs from the Howard Terminal on the north side of Chicago, through the southern part of Evanston and to the Dempster Terminal in Skokie, Illinois, making one intermediate stop at Oakton Street in downtown Skokie. It is the shortest line in the system. At Howard, Yellow Line passengers can transfer to the Purple or Red Lines of the "L". Union Pacific / North Line
The Union Pacific North Line (UP-N) is a Metra line in the Chicago metropolitan area. It runs between Ogilvie Transportation Center and Kenosha, Wisconsin; however, most trains terminate in Waukegan, Illinois. Linden is an 'L' station and the northern terminus of CTA's Purple Line. It is the only 'L' stop in Wilmette, Illinois, and is located at 349 Linden Avenue. Purple
