Punt And Dennis
Punt and Dennis are a comedy double act consisting of Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis. The duo first met at the Footlights while studying at Cambridge University in the early 1980s. Initially they were an amateur double act performing at various venues in London on the weekends due to Dennis' weekday job commitments. They have branched into acting and screenwriting. Works Radio and television Punt and Dennis first appeared on television in Jasper Carrott's shows during the late 1980s. They were two of the four main performers in ''The Mary Whitehouse Experience'', a comedy show on BBC Radio 1 which then transferred to television. While the other two stars of the series, Robert Newman (comedian), Rob Newman and David Baddiel, became major celebrities — playing to sell-out audiences at Wembley Arena—Punt and Dennis never attained the same level of prominence as a double act. Hugh Dennis
Peter Hugh Dennis (born 13 February 1962) is an English comedian, presenter, actor, Impressionist (entertainment), impressionist and writer. He was a panellist in every episode of the comedy show ''Mock the Week'' (2005–2022) and is one half of the double act Punt and Dennis alongside Steve Punt. Christopher David Addison (born 5 November 1971) is a British comedian, writer, actor, and director. He was a panellist on several editions of TV comedy panel show '' Mock the Week''. ''Mock the Week'' is a topical satirical celebrity panel show, created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson. It was produced by Angst Productions for BBC Two, and was broadcast from 5 June 2005 to 4 November 2022. Presenter Dara Ó Briain and panellist Hugh Dennis appeared in every episode, with a variety of other stand-up comedians being regular, frequent, occasional or one-off guest panellists during the show's history. ''It’s Been a Bad Week'' was a British radio comedy on BBC Radio 2, that first broadcast on 11 February 1999. It was presented by Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis, and is also referred to as ''Punt and Dennis: It's Been a Bad Week''. More than 100 episodes have been broadcast , the latest series ended on 22 June 2006. Mitch Benn has since confirmed the show has "bitten the dust". It was normally broadcast on Thursdays at 10pm, with each episode being repeated on Saturdays at 1:30pm. The show was recorded the week of broadcast at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. ''Newman and Baddiel in Pieces'' is a sketch comedy television show written by and starring comedians Robert Newman and David Baddiel, produced by Harry Thompson, and broadcast on BBC2 from 20 September to 20 December 1993. A spin-off from '' The Mary Whitehouse Experience'', the show combined monologues and observational routines from each of the two comedians (often with very dark themes) and character comedy. Its title sequence was an animated version of Munch's painting ''The Scream'' (to the tune of " Another Flavour" by The Sundays), with Newman and Baddiel revealed as the artist's friends in the background, standing near a waterfront theatre in which they were appearing. The first series of 6 episodes was broadcast between 7 July and 11 August 1994. David Baddiel
David Lionel Baddiel (; born 28 May 1964) is an English comedian, presenter, screenwriter, author and singer. He became known for his early work alongside Rob Newman in '' The Mary Whitehouse Experience'' and later for his comedy partnership with Frank Skinner.
