Pulak Bandyopadhyay
Pulak Bandyopadhyay (; 2 May 1931 – 7 September 1999) was a Bengali people, Bengali Indian lyricist and songwriter of Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali cinema. Early life He was born and brought up in Salkia, Howrah. His family had close links with art circles, in particular in drama, literature, and music. He was a graduate of the Scottish Church College, in Kolkata, Calcutta. Career He experimented with various genres and in the process contributed richly to the evolution of musical compositions in Bengali cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. The sheer spontaneity of his compositions made him a much sought after lyricist. Pulak Biswas
Pulak Biswas (1941—29 August 2013) is a leading artist and children's book illustrator from India. Biography Biswas was born in Dhaka, British India. After training at the Government College of Art, Kolkata, he worked for many years in the advertising industry. He was the recipient of an UNESCO fellowship for advanced studies in Graphic Design and Illustration. He also studied at Hornsey College, London, and the Rietvald Academy, Amsterdam. He has also held several solo and group exhibitions in India and Europe. Children's literature In the 80s, Biswas left advertising graphics and joined the cartoonist K. Shankar Pillai at the Children's Book Trust, New Delhi. In 1992-93, he won the National Award for Children's Literature in for ''Ashok's New Friend'' (written by Deepa Agarwal). Pulak Sengupta
Pulak Sengupta (born 1963) is an Indian petrologist and a professor and former head of the Department of Geological Sciences of Jadavpur University. He is known for his studies on grain-scale reaction mechanism and ultra-high temperature regional scale metamorphism and his studies have been documented in several peer-reviewed articles; ResearchGate and Google Scholar, online repositories of scientific articles, have listed 31 and 60 of them respectively. Besides, he has contributed chapters to many books published by others. He has also mentored doctoral scholars in their studies. Sengupta, born on 5 December 1963 in the Indian state of West Bengal did his master's studies at Jadavpur University and subsequently secured a PhD from the same institution before joining his alma mater as a member of faculty.
