Puerto Madryn
Puerto Madryn (; ), usually known as Madryn, is a city in the province of Chubut in Argentine Patagonia. It is the capital of the Viedma Department, and has about 103,175 inhabitants according to the last census in 2022. Puerto Madryn is protected by the Golfo Nuevo, which is formed by the Península Valdés and the Punta Ninfas. It is an important centre for tourists visiting the natural attractions of the Península Valdés and the coast. The name of the city conmemorates Love Jones Parry, one of the colonizers of Patagonia. The toponym originated around 1863, when Love Jones Parry, along with Lewis Jones travelled to Patagonia aboard ''Candelaría'' to decide whether that region was adequate for a Welsh colony. A new shopping mall in the city centre has helped tourism develop significantly, making Puerto Madryn a more attractive place for both international and domestic tourists visiting Patagonia. Viedma Department
Biedma is a department located in the north east of Chubut Province, on the Atlantic coast of Argentina. The spelling Viedma is also sometimes used, but the spelling ''Biedma'' is preferred, to distinguish the department from the city of Viedma in Río Negro Province. The provincial subdivision has a population of about 59,000 inhabitants in an area of 12,940 km2, and its capital city is Puerto Madryn, which is located around 1,334 km from Buenos Aires. Y Wladfa (, 'The Colony'), also occasionally Y Wladychfa Gymreig (, 'The Welsh Settlement'), refers to the establishment of settlements by Welsh colonists and immigrants in the Argentine Patagonia, beginning in 1865, mainly along the coast of the lower Chubut Valley. In 1881, the area became part of the Chubut National Territory of Argentina which, in 1955, became Chubut Province. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the Argentine government encouraged emigration from Europe to populate Argentina and south Patagonia particularly, which until the Conquest of the Desert had sparsely rural and coastal settlements. Llŷn Peninsula
The Llŷn Peninsula ( or , ) is a peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales, with an area of about , and a population of at least 20,000. It extends into the Irish Sea, and its southern coast is the northern boundary of the Tremadog Bay inlet of Cardigan Bay. Nefyn
Nefyn (, archaically anglicised as Nevin) is a town and community (Wales), community on the northwest coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, Gwynedd, Wales. Nefyn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach, and has one substantial hotel, a community pub and a beach cafe. The A497 road terminates in the town centre. Lieutenant-General Sir Love Parry Jones-Parry Royal Guelphic Order, KH (28 November 1781 – 23 January 1853) was a British Army officer, politician and later a High Sheriff of Anglesey, High Sheriff. He was the son of Thomas Jones, and after his father acquired an estate at Madryn Castle from his cousin Margaret Parry in 1807 took Parry as an additional surname.
