The Pucci family has been a prominent noble family in Florence over the course of many centuries. A recent notable member of this family was Emilio Pucci, an Italian fashion designer who founded a clothing company after World War II. History The family surname derives from an ancestor named Jacopo, informally Jacopuccio, abbreviated to Puccio, who was considered wise and frequently called upon to settle disputes – there are records of two such interventions in 1264 and 1287. Their former surname seems to have been ''Saracini'', which explains the presence of a " maure" (moor's head) on the Pucci family's coat of arms, as one ancestor been part in the First Crusade. Michael Joseph Pucci (born 1 June 1963) is a former American–Australian politician who served in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2015, representing the seat of Logan. He was born in the United States, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years before immigrating to Australia. Pucci represented the Liberal National Party while in parliament, but in 2017 began working for One Nation as its campaign director for the next state election. Luciano Pucci Burti (born 5 March 1975) is a Brazilian racing driver who briefly raced in Formula One. He is now a commentator for TV Globo. Killjoy DeSade (born Frank Pucci; November 4, 1966 – March 18, 2018) was an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist for the death metal band Necrophagia. Career Pucci founded Necrophagia in 1983, which first dissolved in 1990. Shortly after Necrophagia's dissolution, he formed his solo band and released ''Compelled by Fear'' in 1990. Agnolo (Angelo) Ambrogini (14 July 1454 – 24 September 1494), commonly known by his nickname Poliziano (; anglicized as Politian; Latin: '' Politianus''), was an Italian classical scholar and poet of the Florentine Renaissance.
