Public Transport In Tallinn
Public transport in Tallinn consists of bus, tram, trolleybus, train, and ferry services. Tallinna Linnatranspordi (TLT) operates bus, tram and trolleybus routes, Elron operates train services, and Spinnaker OÜ operates the ferry service to Aegna Island on the high speed craft ''Vegtind''. Tallinn is the only city in Estonia to have ever used trams or trolleybuses. Use of trolleybuses has decreased since their peak operation in 1988. Since 2024, diesel busses have started to be replaced by compressed gas–powered and battery electric buses. History The first tram route in Tallinn was opened in 1888. For their first 30 years of operation, Tallinn's trams were pulled by horses. The horse-drawn tram lines ran on the Narva, Tartu and Pärnu main roads, routes that remain in use today. Kristiine Centre () is a shopping centre in Tallinn, Estonia. It's situated in Kristiine district's subdistrict of Lilleküla. Kristiine is one of the largest shopping centres in Estonia by the amount of shops. It has a gross leasable area of containing nearly 170 different shops (including 18 restaurants and cafés). Lilleküla Railway Station
Lilleküla railway station () is a railway station in the Kristiine district of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The station is situated between the subdistricts Lilleküla and Uus Maailm, and close to the Estonian national football home ground A. Le Coq Arena and Kristiine Keskus, one of the biggest and most popular shopping centres in Tallinn. The station is served by all commuter trains heading to Keila, Paldiski, Turba and Kloogaranna. It consists of two 130 metre platforms. It is located about 2 km south of Baltic Station, it is the second stop on Elron's western route after the terminus at Tallinn's main railway station, Baltic Station. Kopli (Estonian for ''"Paddock"'') is a subdistrict of the district of Põhja-Tallinn (Northern Tallinn) in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. It is located on the Kopli Peninsula and is bordered by parts of the Tallinn Bay, the Kopli Bay to the southwest and the Paljassaare Bay to the north. Kopli has a population of 7,240 (). Priisle
Priisle is a subdistrict () in the district of Lasnamäe, Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. It has a population of 10,949 (). Iru hill fort On a hill by Pirita River in Iru, the remains of an ancient hill fort are located. The settlement has a history dating back to the third millennium BC. It seems to have been continuously occupied, and strengthened into a more fortress-like castle in the 5th century AD. It remained in use until the 11th century. Archaeological investigations have shown that the settlement was burnt several times. Some of the oldest remains of buildings in Estonia, as well as some of the oldest items made of iron, have been found during excavations. Baltic Station () is the main railway station in Tallinn, Estonia, and the largest railway station in Estonia. All trains in Estonia depart and terminate at this station.
