Psychedelic Lollipop
'' Psychedelic Lollipop'' is the debut album by the American rock band the Blues Magoos, and is one of the first records to have the word “ psychedelic” on the sleeve. Their single “(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet” was their most successful effort, rising into the Top 10 on many national charts. Guitarist “Peppy” Theilhelm was 16 years old at the time of the single’s release. The band recorded five more albums with various lineups, none reaching the success of ''Psychedelic Lollipop''. "Sometimes I Think About" is credited to members of the band, but is actually a traditional folk song. Reception AllMusic critic Mark Deming felt that Blues Magoos sounded more like a solid garage band than a psychedelic band. He especially praised their version of " Tobacco Road". I'll Go Crazy (James Brown Song)
"I'll Go Crazy" is a rhythm and blues song recorded by James Brown and The Famous Flames. Released as a single in 1960, it was Brown's fourth R&B hit, charting at #15. Brown and the Flames also performed it as the first song on their 1963 album '' Live at the Apollo''. The ''Live at the Apollo'' performance of "I'll Go Crazy" was also later released as the B-side of a single in 1966, backed with "Lost Someone" (also from the live album). Big Maceo Merriweather
Major Merriweather (March 31, 1905 – February 23, 1953), better known as Big Maceo Merriweather, was an American pianist and blues singer. He was mainly active in Chicago through the 1940s. Career Born in Newnan, Georgia, he was a self-taught pianist. In the 1920s, he moved to Detroit, Michigan, to begin his music career. He moved to Chicago in 1941, where he made the acquaintance of Tampa Red.
