''Pseudorhabdosynochus sinediscus'' is a diplectanid monogenean parasitic on the gills of groupers. It has been described in 2007 by Lassad Neifar & Louis Euzet. The name refers to the absence of squamodiscs and is derived from the Latin “''sine''”, indicating absence, and “''discus''”, contraction of “''squamodiscus''”. The species has been redescribed by Amira Chaabane, Lassad Neifar, and Jean-Lou Justine in 2017 from the type material and additional specimens from Tunisia. Description ''Pseudorhabdosynochus sinediscus'' is a small monogenean. The species has the general characteristics of other species of ''Pseudorhabdosynochus'', with a flat body and a posterior haptor, which is the organ by which the monogenean attaches itself to the gill of is host. Louis Euzet
Louis Euzet (27 July 1923 in Lézignan-Corbières, France – 24 September 2013 in Sète, France) was a French parasitologist. Education Louis Euzet was a high-school student in Narbonne, France, and a student of the University of Montpellier (in the then “''Faculté des Sciences''”). He obtained his bachelor's degree (''Licence'') in 1947. He prepared his doctoral thesis in the Station de Biologie Marine at Sète, under the direction of Paul Mathias and Jean-George Baer; the thesis, on tetraphyllidean cestodes, was accepted on 16 June 1956. Career Louis Euzet was a junior lecturer at the Station de Biologie Marine in Sète in 1947. The Diplectanidae are a family of monopisthocotylean monogeneans. They are all parasitic on the gills of fish (marine or freshwater). Diplectanids are small animals, generally around 1 mm in length. ''Pseudorhabdosynochus'' is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans, included in the family Diplectanidae. The type-species of the genus is ''Pseudorhabdosynochus epinepheli'' ( Yamaguti, 1938). The genus includes more than 80 species, which are all parasitic on the gills of marine fish, especially groupers. Since groupers are mostly abundant in warm waters, species of ''Pseudorhabdosynochus'' are found in warm parts of the oceans, especially in coral reefs, but species have also been found in deep-sea groupers.
