Bonnie Prudden
Bonnie Prudden ( Ruth Alice Prudden; January 29, 1914 – December 11, 2011) was an American physical fitness pioneer, Rock climbing, rock climber and Mountaineering, mountaineer. Her report to Dwight D. Eisenhower, Eisenhower on the unfitness of American children as compared with their European counterparts led to the formation of the President's Council on Youth Fitness. Prudden authored 16 books on physical fitness and myotherapy for all ages and abilities including two best sellers, ''How to Keep'' ''Slender and Fit After Thirty'' (1961) and ''Pain Erasure: The Bonnie Prudden Way'' (1980). She produced six exercise albums, hosted the first regular exercise spots on national television, had a syndicated television show, and wrote a regular column for ''Sports Illustrated''. Edward Hulburd Prudden (1859-1932) was a provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1917 to 1921 sitting with the Liberal caucus in government. Political career Prudden ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1917 Alberta general election as a candidate for the provincial Liberals. He won a close race over Conservative candidate George McMorris by 33 votes to hold the seat for his party. Emily Prudden
Emily Catherine Prudden (June 13, 1832 – December 25, 1917) was an American educator and home missionary, credited with founding at least fifteen schools in rural North Carolina and South Carolina, including Linwood Female College and Pfeiffer College. Early life Prudden was born in Orange, Connecticut, the daughter of Joseph Prudden and Charlotte Heminway Prudden. Her father was a farmer who was active in Congregational Church work. Career Prudden left Connecticut in 1878, to work at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. She was house mother at Brainerd Institute in Chester, South Carolina in 1882. After those schoolwork experiences, she founded more than a dozen schools in North and South Carolina, mostly for young women, serving both white and Black students. Though the schools were racially segregated, she faced some local opposition to her work. Josh Prudden
Josh Prudden (born 6 September 1994) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He had an injury-ridden career and only played four AFL games across five seasons. Before his AFL career, Prudden played as a midfielder for Assumption College under coach Scott Wynd, a former player for , who helped him to be drafted by the Bulldogs. Injuries kept him from playing consistently in the Bulldogs' reserves teams early in his career, but in 2015 he was eventually rewarded for good form in the Victorian Football League with his AFL debut. He was cut short in early 2016 when he suffered a major knee injury and he never returned to the AFL side, being demoted to the Bulldogs' rookie list at the end of 2016 and delisted altogether at the end of 2017. Peter Prudden
Peter Prudden (1601–1656) was an English Puritan who assisted in the foundation of Milford, Connecticut. After education at the Merchant Taylors' School, he was a student at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on June 26, 1637 with John Davenport and Theophilus Eaton. After Davenport and Eaton formed New Haven Colony, Prudden and a small group of settlers purchased a tract of land called Wepawaug from local Native Americans. Prudden was ordained as the first pastor of the Congregationalist church at Milford on April 8, 1640. He is buried in Milford, Connecticut. He was invited with several of his followers to settle in Dedham, Massachusetts, but declined the invitation.* They had offers to settle in other places as well, including in Plymouth Colony, and were seeking to build a community that was both spiritually and commercially successful.
