Altar is a Dutch death metal band. History The band started in the early 1990s under various names, including Manticore and Anubis, in the town of Hardenberg. Eventually it settled on Altar. In 1992, it released its only demo, which landed it at Displeased Records Displeased Records was a Dutch independent record label, founded by Lars Eikema and Ron Veltkamp. The label had many Dutch and other extreme metal bands on its roster, but has also re-released albums by Agathocles (band), Agathocles, Cryptopsy, In .... After five full-lengths the band split up in 2001. From time to time, the classic line-up reunites to play a limited number of shows under the name Altar-native. Provoker (band)
Provoker are an American post-punk band from The San Francisco Bay Area. Formed by Jonathon Lopez in 2015, Provoker began as a solo project, focused on creating scores for fictional horror films. After coming in contact with singer, songwriter, musician Christian Crow Petty at a screening of the American black comedy The Greasy Strangler, Lopez sent him some of his soundtrack pieces to record vocals over. This melding lead to the band adopting more post-punk influence, finding a middle ground between Lopez's synth driven experimentation and Petty's R&B influenced singing. The band was complete in its current form after the release of 2018's Dark Angel EP, now a three piece consisting of guitarist Lopez, bassist Wil Palacios and vocalist Petty. ''Provoked'' is a 2006 British biographical drama film, directed by Jag Mundhra. It stars Aishwarya Rai, Naveen Andrews, Miranda Richardson, Robbie Coltrane, Nandita Das and Steve McFadden. The film is loosely based on the true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia, who unintentionally killed her abusive husband. Cinematography for the film was handled by Madhu Ambat.
