Provocative (album)
''Provocative'' is the fourth album by American R&B recording artist Johnny Gill. It was his second album for Motown Records and fourth album overall. Three singles were released from the album with music videos. The first single, " The Floor", was accompanied by a music video directed by Julien Temple. Temple previously directed the music video "Fairweather Friend" from Gill's previous album. The second single "I Got You" was directed by Sanji. The video for the third single "Long Way From Home" was directed by Wayne Isham. ''Provocative'' was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 11, 1993. The most successful single from the album was "The Floor", which peaked at number six in Australia, reached number 56 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and charted within the top 50 in the Netherlands and New Zealand. Johnny Gill
Johnny Gill Jr. (born May 22, 1966) is an American singer and songwriter. He is the sixth and final member of the R&B/ pop group New Edition and was also a member of the supergroup called LSG, with Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat. Gill has released eight solo albums, three albums with New Edition, two albums with LSG, and one collaborative album with Stacy Lattisaw. Gill has sold over 15 million copies worldwide as a solo artist. Shawn Patrick Stockman (born September 26, 1972) is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as a member of the vocal group Boyz II Men. In addition to Boyz II Men, Stockman was a member of the group Black Men United. He was also a judge on the NBC television show ''The Sing-Off'' for five seasons (2009–2014). James Samuel "Jimmy Jam" Harris III (born June 6, 1959) and Terry Steven Lewis (born November 24, 1956) are an American R&B/pop songwriting and record production team. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Its members consist of record labels and distributors that the RIAA says "create, manufacture, and/or distribute approximately 85% of all legally sold recorded music in the United States".
