Proton RESS
Reinforced Safety Structure (RESS) is the brand name of an automotive safety body construction system by the Malaysian carmaker, Proton. Debuting in 2012 with the Proton Preve, the RESS was developed to meet tougher global crash safety regulations through the application of heat treatment and Hot Press Forming (HPF) technology. Overview Prior to the launch of the Prevé and Suprima S, Proton cars suffered from a poor safety ratings, with the Proton Jumbuck scoring one out of five stars in its 2009 ANCAP safety rating. The Waja was the first and thus far only Proton car to be officially crash tested by the Euro NCAP in 2002, where it scored three of five stars. The Proton Exora is an automobile produced by Malaysian car manufacturer Proton. Considered to be a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in the C-segment, it became Malaysia's first locally developed MPV upon its release on 15 April 2009. Proton Persona (BH)
The Proton Persona (BH), codenamed P2-31A is a subcompact (B-segment) saloon engineered by the Malaysian automobile manufacturer Proton. The BH series represents the third and latest generation in the Proton Persona lineage. It was unveiled on 23 August 2016 as the successor to the CM Persona. The BH Persona is based on an extended Proton Iriz platform and shares the latter's 1.6-litre VVT engine and basic structure, but its exterior design has been completely re-engineered to give it a distinct persona. The Proton Iriz, codenamed P2-30A is a five-door, five-seater supermini from the Malaysian automobile manufacturer, Proton. It was unveiled on 25 September 2014 at Proton City by former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad. The Iriz is the successor to the Proton Savvy. It was released on 17 August 2013 and is based on Proton's next generation P2 platform. Martensite is a very hard form of steel crystalline structure. It is named after German metallurgist Adolf Martens. By analogy the term can also refer to any crystal structure that is formed by diffusionless transformation. In materials science, quenching is the rapid cooling of a workpiece in water, oil, polymer, air, or other fluids to obtain certain material properties. A type of heat treating, quenching prevents undesired low-temperature processes, such as phase transformations, from occurring.
