Prothom Kadam Phool
''Pratham Kadam Phool'' is a 1969 Bengali film, written and directed by Inder Sen, based on a story of the same name, by Achintya Kumar Sengupta. It stars Tanuja and Soumitra Chatterjee in the lead. The film was produced by Dipangshu Kumar Deb, and edited by Arabinda Bhattacharya. Plot Sukanta meets Kakali in a library reading room and discovers his passion for her, though she rejects him initially. Pranta's wife, Sukanta's sister in law, suspects the truth yet does not dare to encourage the affair since Sukanta is not established. On another day, Kakali and Sukanta become stranded in a library lift for many hours as electric power goes off. Here, they become close to each other, and start meeting frequently thereafter. Inder Sen
Inder Sen is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter working in Bengali cinema. He has directed several films since the 1960s, making his directorial debut in the film ''Pratham Kadam Phool'', which was written based on the story of the same name, by Achintya Kumar Sengupta. Bhanu Banerjee, also known as Bhanu Bandyopadhyay (born as Samyamoy Banerjee; 26 August 1920 – 4 March 1983), was an Indian actor, known for his work in Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali cinema. Achintya Kumar Sengupta
Achintya Kumar Sengupta (born 19 September 1903 – 29 January 1976) was an Indian Bengali-language poet, story writer, novelist, biographer and editor. Life He was born in Noakhali, now in Bangladesh. At the age of 13, after his father's death, Sengupta moved to Calcutta, where he completed his schooling. He got a B. A. Honours degree from South Suburban College in English, followed by an M. A. degree from the University of Calcutta. Subsequently, he obtained a degree in Law and entered the judicial service in 1928 as a Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Assistant Magistrate Second Class. He served as a Judge in Magistrate Courts of Kolkata and District Courts of Midnapore, Dinajpore, and Kushtia. He retired as a Principal District Judge of the Alipore Court in 1961.
