Project Twenty1
Project Twenty1 is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization based in Philadelphia with the mission to Educate, Promote, Inspire & Connect creatives through film and animation programs (E.P.I.C.) Signature programs include the 21-Day Filmmaking Competition and the Philadelphia Film & Animation Festival. Past Philadelphia programs they have run include the Philadelphia Film-A-Thon, an all day international film marathon and Cinema Undercover, a secret cinema showcase of films that are not revealed before the screening. The organization has also run satellite events and programs outside of Philadelphia. In Norristown, Project Twenty1 helped co-found The Norristown Arts Hill District, which runs along DeKalb Street (from Front Street to Chestnut Street) and along Main Street (between Swede Street and DeKalb). Joel Hodgson (born February 20, 1960) is an American writer, comedian and television actor. He is best known for creating ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' (''MST3K'') and starring in it as the character Joel Robinson. 48 Hour Film Project
The 48 Hour Film Project is an annual film competition in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements. The competition has been active since 2001. In the weeks after the 48 hours of filmmaking are complete, screenings are held in each city and a winner is chosen to represent that city at Filmapalooza—a festival that features "best of" screenings of the winners from each city. Filmapalooza is hosted by a different city each year. The most recent Filmapalooza, in 2020, was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Background The competition began in Washington, D.C., in 2001. Extremefilmmaker's 48 Hour Film Festival was a film festival in Los Angeles where filmmakers shot and edited movies in 48 hours. (They are permitted to write the movies beforehand.)
