Private Collection (film)
''Private Collection'' is a 1972 Australian black comedy film that marked the feature debuts of Pamela Stephenson and Michael Caton. Plot Two rival art collectors, Henry Phillips and Joseph Tibbsworth, engage the services of George Kleptoman, a thief, to steal from each other. In the meantime Mary-Ann, Henry's bored wife, has acquired a secret boyfriend and plans mariticide. Peter Reynolds (actor)
Peter Reynolds (born Peter Gordon Horrocks; 16 August 1921 – 22 April 1975) was an English actor. Career Most of his career was spent in B films, as "the archetypal spiv, unreliable boyfriend, unscrupulous blackmailer, the smoothie ever ready to light a lady's cigarette". ''Filmink'' reflected "few actors of his generation made movies more fun." He starred in two early films for John Guillermin. He played Hilaire in episode 28 of '' The Adventures of William Tell'', The Avenger (1959). He appeared in '' The Avengers'' as Al Brady in "Double Danger" in 1961 and as Tulip in "Who's Who" in 1967. In 1969 Reynolds moved to Australia, where his career gained a second wind. He appeared in over two dozen roles in his first six years there (1969 to 1974, inclusive), mainly on TV. The Australian Film Development Corporation was an organisation created and funded by the Australian Government in the 1970s, intended to allow filmmakers in the Australian film industry to create movies for everyone to see. In 1975 it was replaced with Australian Film Commission. The Sydney Film Festival is an annual competitive film festival held in Sydney, Australia, usually over 12 days in June. A number of awards are given, the top one being the Sydney Film Prize. , the festival's director is Nashen Moodley. Les Foxcroft
Clement Leslie Foxcroft (19 November 1918 – 24 June 2004) professionally known as Les Foxcroft and credited also as Lester Foxcroft was an Australian character actor with a career spanning over 50 years, working in all major facets of the industry from stage, radio, television and film. Early life Foxcroft was born in Fitzroy, Victoria on 19 November 1918, and spent his childhood in Geelong during the Depression. His mother died when he was young, and his father (a South African war veteran who was wounded at Gallipoli), remarried. His stepmother showed him little affection. Foxcroft worked in a factory after leaving home at age 15. He also learnt to box as a youth. He developed a passion for performing after frequenting the cinema to watch films. Pamela Stephenson
Pamela Stephenson, Lady Connolly (born 4 December 1949) is a New Zealand-born psychologist, writer, actress and comedian. She moved with her family to Australia in 1953 and studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). After playing several stage and television roles, Stephenson emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1976. Stephenson appeared in British television shows, including '' Space: 1999'', ''New Avengers'', '' The Professionals'' and '' Tales of the Unexpected'' before her breakthrough role alongside Rowan Atkinson, Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones in the satirical sketch show ''Not the Nine O'Clock News'' (1979–1982).
