Prithvi-vallabha (title)
Shri Prithvi-vallabha (IAST: ), or , was an imperial title used by several kings that ruled in present-day India, including the Chalukyas of Vatapi and the Rashtrakutas. It is a Kshatriya title that translates as "Lord of the Earth," or alternatively as "Husband of the Earth and Her Fortunes." Chalukyas of Vatapi All the sovereign rulers of the Vatapi Chalukya dynasty bore the title '' Shri-prithvi-vallabha'', which means "the husband of the goddess of fortune and the Earth" (that is, Vishnu). Mangalesha bore the exact title of ''Prithvi-vallabha'', as attested by the Mahakuta inscriptions. The Manor inscription of the Chalukya governor Jayashraya Mangalarasa, dated to 7 April 691 (year 613 of the Shaka era), also mentions ''Prithvi-vallabha'' as one of his titles. Vakpati Munja
Munja (reigned c. 972-990s CE), also known as Vakpati II, was an Indian ruler from the Paramara dynasty, who ruled the Kingdom of Malwa. He is known for consolidating the Malwa kingdom, for patronising poets and scholars and for achieving the military success against almost all of the neighbouring kingdoms. Munja achieved military successes against the Chahamanas, the Guhilas, the Hunas, the Kalachuris, and the ruler of Gurjara region (possibly a Chaulukya or Pratihara ruler). He also achieved some early successes against the Western Chalukya king Tailapa II, but was ultimately defeated and killed by Tailapa some time between 994 CE and 998 CE. ''Prithivivallabh'' () is a 1921 Gujarati language, Gujarati Historical fiction, historical novel by Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi, Kanaiyalal Munshi. The novel depicts the rivalry between Vakpati Munja, Munj, the Paramara dynasty, Paramara monarch of Dharanagari and Tailapa II, Tailap as well as the romance between Munj and Mrinal. Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi
Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi (; 30 December 1887 – 8 February 1971), popularly known by his pen name Ghanshyam Vyas, was an Indian independence movement activist, politician, writer from Gujarat state. A lawyer by profession, he later turned to author and politician. He is a well-known name in Gujarati literature. He founded Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, an educational trust, in 1938. Munshi wrote his works in three languages namely Gujarati, English and Hindi. Before independence of India, Munshi was part of Indian National Congress and after independence, he joined Swatantra Party. ''Prithvi Vallabh'' (English: The Lord of Love and Power) was a 1924 Indian historical drama film directed by Manilal Joshi. It was based on the 1921 Gujarati novel ''Prithivivallabh'' by K. M. Munshi. Plot Munj, the king of Avanti who is a great warrior and patron of arts, is captured by his opponent Tailap with help from Bhillam, king of Dharavati. Manilal Joshi (1893 – 7 September 1927) was a film director of silent films from Indian cinema. Biography Joshi was a school teacher in Bombay before joining cinema. He was trained under cinematographer Vishnu B. Joshi at Kohinoor Studio (1920). He started his career as a director with his debut film ''Veer Abhimanyu'' (1922). Prithvi Vallabh (Hindi: पृथ्वी वल्लभ) is a historical drama Bollywood film directed by Sohrab Modi. Made under the Minerva Movietone banner it was released in Bollywood films of 1943, 1943. It had music by Rafiq Ghaznavi and Saraswati Devi (music director), Saraswati Devi with lyrics by Pandit Sudershan who also wrote the screenplay and dialogues.
