Prince Albert Carlton
Prince Albert Carlton is a provincial electoral district (a " riding") for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. The riding was last contested in the 2020 general election, when it returned Saskatchewan Party MLA Joe Hargrave. One of two provincial constituencies for the city of Prince Albert, the other being Prince Albert Northcote, the riding's northern boundary follows 15th Street ( Hwy. 302) from east to west; then curves south along 9th/10th Avenue West to 28th Street, which the boundary follows westward until the city limits. The riding was created in 1991 out of Prince Albert and Prince Albert-Duck Lake. History Since being created, the riding has returned members of the New Democratic and Saskatchewan Parties. Joe Hargrave
Joe Hargrave is a Canadian politician, who served as the Member for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for the electoral district of Prince Albert Carlton. He was first elected in the 2016 provincial election, when he succeeded retiring Saskatchewan Party MLA Darryl Hickie. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Party. Hargrave was selected as the Saskatchewan Party candidate in a heavily contested nomination meeting, which was conducted in the Prince Albert Exhibition Centre. Hargrave based his nomination strategy on an economic focus, saying that a strong economy would also include access to healthcare and other public goods, and suggesting that his own experience in business would make him a good representative. Darryl Hickie
Darryl Hickie (born ) is a Canadian politician. He was elected to represent the electoral district of Prince Albert Carlton in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2007 election. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Party. Hickie was born in Winnipeg into a military family, and moved to Prince Albert in 1975. He worked as a correctional officer and parole officer at the Saskatchewan Federal Penitentiary, and later as a police officer for the Prince Albert Police Service. The 24th Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan was elected in the 1999 Saskatchewan election. It was controlled by the New Democratic Party under Premier Roy Romanow. Romanow resigned as New Democratic Party leader in 2001 and was succeeded by Lorne Calvert for the remainder of the 24th Assembly. The 2007 Saskatchewan general election was held on November 7, 2007 to determine the composition of the 26th Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.
