Primary Music
Primary Music is an Israeli independent record label, specializing in World music, New Age, Lounge and ambient. Primary Music is located in Tel Aviv, Israel. In September 2003, having quit her former label, world music singer Suzy established 'Primary Music' as an independent label. Her goal was to create a personal label that can promote her music according to her own artistic perception. Later the label became a home for other "world music" performers. Margalit Matitiahu
Margalit Matitiahu (; born 1935, in Tel Aviv) is a poet in Ladino and Hebrew from Israel. After the Holocaust, her parents moved to Israel from Thessaloniki, Greece where they were Sephardi Jews who were descendants of Jews from León. She studied Hebrew Literature and Philosophy at Bar Ilan University. She started writing in Hebrew and in 1988 she published ''Curtijo Quemado'' (later in ''Vela de luz'') in Ladino, which is a testimony of Nazi destruction. She has worked as a presenter in radio and investigated her mother tongue. Omar Faruk Tekbilek
Omer Faruk Tekbilek (, born 1951) is a Turkish musician and composer, who plays a wide range of wind, string, percussion and electronic instruments. He has developed a style that builds on traditional Sufi music, but includes inspiration from ambient electronic musicians, most notably Brian Keane. He is best known for his performances with the flute-like ney, but also plays the piccolo-like kaval, and the double-reed zurna. Among stringed instruments, he plays the oud and the bağlama. David Broza
David Simon Berwick Broza (; born September 4, 1955) is an Israeli singer-songwriter. His music mixes modern pop with Spanish music. Biography David Broza was born in Haifa, Israel. His father was an Israeli–British businessman of German-Dutch Jewish descent. He grew up in England and Spain, attending Runnymede College, in Madrid. Broza's grandfather, Wellesley Aron, co-founded the Arab-Israeli peace settlement Neve Shalom – Wāħat as-Salām (''The Oasis of Peace''), Jewish Music Group (archived webpage) and the Habonim youth movement. Young David Broza originally planned to become a graphic artist, and by age 17 he was selling his paintings in the Rastro, Madrid's Sunday flea market. Nissim Amon
Nissim Amon (; born 1963) is an Israeli Zen master and meditation teacher. He is the developer of the ''Trilotherapy'' therapeutic system and the author and translator of several books and publications. Biography Nissim Amon was born in Jerusalem in 1963 to a secular family. He served in the Israeli Defense Forces under the Nahal Brigade and fought in the Lebanon War. After his military service, he went on a trip to the Far East and became acquainted with Buddhism. Amon later joined a Zen Buddhist monastery in South Korea, where he enrolled in a curriculum in English for Western monks. At that time, Westerners were not required to undergo the long mentorship period of their Korean counterparts. At the Hwa Gye Sa monastery, he became the first Israeli monk in Korea. Helicon Records
Helicon () is an Israeli record label. History Helicon Records was founded in 1985. Aside from being the label of many Israeli singers, Helicon was the exclusive distributor of Snapper Music, EMI and Universal Music Group (replacing PolyGram) in Israel. In 2012, Helicon acquired the distribution rights of High Fidelity, another Israeli record label. Its founders, Itzik Alsheich and Roni Brown, decided to name it after the mountain "Helikon" in Greece, "which, according to Greek mythology, was the home of the nine Muses: the goddesses of creativity, arts and sciences, whose main role was to inspire creators, especially poets, musicians and philosophers". In late 2015, the company began releasing vinyl records again after a hiatus of more than 20 years. In 2021, Itzik Alsheich bought Ronnie Brown's stake in the company and then merged it with the record label "Aroma Music" to create "Helicon Aroma Music Group".
