Prey (2007 Film)
''Prey'' is a 2007 South African adventure thriller horror film written by Jeff Wadlow, Beau Bauman, and Darrell Roodt. The film was directed by Roodt. At a South African game reserve, a woman and her two stepchildren are trapped inside a car by a pride of hungry lions. ''Prey'' stars Bridget Moynahan, Peter Weller and Carly Schroeder. Plot Tom Newman and his family arrive at a resort in South Africa. Tom is a hydro-electrical engineer who has been hired to help build a nearby dam. He hopes that this trip will give his daughter, Jessica, and new wife, Amy, the chance to get closer. Jessica blames Amy for her parents' divorce. The next morning, Amy, Jessica and her brother David go on a game drive with Brian, a ranger, while Tom works on the dam. While taking a bathroom break, Brian and David encounter a pride of lions. Darrell Roodt
Darrell James Roodt (born in Johannesburg, 28 April 1962) is a South African film director, screenwriter and producer. He is probably most well known for his 1992 film '' Sarafina!'' which starred actress Whoopi Goldberg. Roodt has worked with Patrick Swayze in '' Father Hood'', James Earl Jones in '' Cry, the Beloved Country'' and Ice Cube in '' Dangerous Ground''. Early life Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Darrell James Roodt grew up during the height of apartheid-era South Africa. His early films like ''Place of Weeping'' strongly condemned apartheid. Tsavo Man-Eaters
The Tsavo Man-Eaters were a pair of large man-eating male lions in the Tsavo region of Kenya, which were responsible for the deaths of many construction workers on the Kenya-Uganda Railway between March and December 1898. The lion pair was said to have killed dozens of people, with some early estimates reaching over a hundred deaths. While the terrors of man-eating lions were not new in the British public perception, the Tsavo Man-Eaters became one of the most notorious instances of dangers posed to Indian and native African workers of the Uganda Railway.
