''Premier rendez-vous'' (US title: ''Her First Affair'') is a 1941 French comedy film starring Danielle Darrieux. It was directed by Henri Decoin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Michel Duran. During the German occupation, the film was made by Continental Films at Paris Studios Cinéma. Plot An orphan girl corresponds with a lonely college professor. In the end, she falls in love with his nephew. Henri Decoin
Henri Decoin (18 March 1890 – 4 July 1969) was a French film director and screenwriter, who directed more than 50 films between 1933 and 1964. He was also a swimmer who won the national title in 1911 and held the national record in the 500 m freestyle. He competed in the Swimming at the 1908 Summer Olympics – Men's 400 metre freestyle, 400 m freestyle at the 1908 Summer Olympics and in the Water polo at the 1912 Summer Olympics, water polo tournament at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Biography During World War I, Decoin served as a pilot. After that he worked as a sports journalist for ''L'Équipe, L'Auto'', ''L'Intransigeant'' and ''Paris-Soir''. Daniel Gélin
Daniel Yves Alfred Gélin (19 May 1921 – 29 November 2002) was a French film and television actor. Early life Gélin was born in Angers, Maine-et-Loire, the son of Yvonne (née Le Méner) and Alfred Ernest Joseph Gélin. When he was ten, his family moved to Saint-Malo where Daniel went to college until he was expelled for 'uncouthness'. His father then found him a job in a shop that sold cans of salted cod. It was seeing the shooting of Marc Allégret's film ''Entrée des artistes'' that triggered his desire to go to Paris to train to be an actor. He trained at the Cours Simon in Paris before entering the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique . There he met Louis Jouvet and embarked on a theatrical career. Jean Négroni (4 December 1920 – 28 May 2005) was a French actor and theatre director particularly known for his voice work, such as his role as the narrator in '' La Jetée'' (1962). Jacques Charon
Jacques Charon (27 February 1920 – 15 October 1975) was a French actor and film director. Born in Paris, Charon trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD) and made his début at the Comédie-Française in 1941. During his time there which lasted until his death, he played over 150 roles in the classical and modern repertoire. Charon directed the 1968 feature film '' A Flea in Her Ear'' and the 1973 television movie ''Monsieur Pompadour''. He played Spalanzani in the complete recording of ''The Tales of Hoffmann'' (Decca, 1971). Charon was openly gay. He died in Paris and is buried in the Cimetière de Montmartre.
