Prelusive
''Prelusive'' is the 2002 independent debut EP by Australian singer–songwriter Sarah Blasko. A video was made for "Your Way", and the song received a great deal of airplay on youth radio station Triple J. The EP is called 'Prelusive' "because that means introductory, from the word 'Prelude', which is a musical term meaning a short, independent composition" said Blasko in 2003 interview "And so I thought that word really fit because he EPis relatively short- only six songs, and it’s independent, and it’s a composition, or a number of compositions." Sarah Blasko
Sarah Elizabeth Blaskow (born 23 September 1976), known professionally as Sarah Blasko, is an Australian singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. From April 2002, Blasko developed her solo career after fronting Sydney-based band, Acquiesce, between the mid-1990s and 2001. She had performed under her then married name, Sarah Semmens, and, after leaving Acquiesce, as Sorija in a briefly existing duo of that name. ''The Overture & the Underscore'' is the 2004 (see 2004 in music) debut album by Australian singer-songwriter Sarah Blasko. Background "Essentially I wanted there to be something really classic about the album", says Blasko on her official website. "The kind of debut albums I like are those that don't try and do too much too soon, that point towards a number of possible directions, and that give the songs some room to move. It was really important to me that my voice and the songs had some character and that there was an intimacy to them. We tried to achieve this by using little or no effect on the voice and not going too far with overdubs." Triple J music director Richard Kingsmill rated it ninth on his list of favourite 2004 albums. Triple J
Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
