Predrag Mijić (politician)
Predrag Mijić ( sr-cyr, Предраг Мијић; born 4 June 1970) is a politician in Serbia. He was the mayor of Čoka, Vojvodina, from 2004 to 2011 and served in the Assembly of Vojvodina from 2008 to 2016. Mijić is a member of the Democratic Party (''Demokratska stranka'', DS). Private career Mijić is a veterinarian. Politician Mayor of Čoka Serbia introduced the direct election of mayors in the 2004 Serbian local elections, and Mijić was elected as mayor of Čoka in the second round of voting. At the time of the election, Čoka did not have a local newspaper, television station, or radio station; Mijić indicated in 2006 that his administration planned to set up local media ventures. The ''Čokanske hronike'' journal was launched during his tenure. Mijić appeared in the 131st position on the DS's electoral list in the 2007 Serbian parliamentary election. 2012 Serbian Local Elections
Local elections in Serbia were held on 6 May 2012. Pursuant to the Constitution of Serbia, the parliamentary Speaker (at the time Slavica Đukić Dejanović from SPS) signed on 13 March 2012 the Decision on calling the elections for councilors of municipal assemblies, town assemblies and the Belgrade City Assembly for 6 May 2012, with the exception of: the councilors of the municipal assemblies of Aranđelovac, Bor, Vrbas, Vrnjačka Banja, Knjaževac, Kovin, Kosjerić, Kosovska Mitrovica, Leposavić, Negotin, Novo Brdo, Odžaci, Peć, Prijepolje and Ruma and councilors of the Priština Town Assembly, which have already had extraordinary elections in the period from 2008 to 2012, while for councilors of the municipal assembly of Kula, the elections were already called earlier on 29 February 2012. The Social Democratic Party of Serbia (, abbr. SDPS) is a centre-left political party in Serbia. Orientated towards the principles of social democracy, it has been led by Rasim Ljajić since its formation in 2009. History The Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS) was formed on 5 October 2009 by Rasim Ljajić, the long-time leader of Sandžak Democratic Party. United Serbia
United Serbia (, abbr. JS) is a national-conservative political party in Serbia. It split from the Party of Serbian Unity in 2004. The party has supported every government formed since its creation, and was briefly in government in 2022–23.
