Precisionist (horse)
Precisionist (February 28, 1981 – September 27, 2006) was an American Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racehorse. Race career In 1985, Precisionist won the Strub Series at Santa Anita Park, becoming only the fifth horse to win the Malibu Stakes, the San Fernando Stakes, and the Charles H. Strub Stakes. Winner of an Eclipse Award as a champion sprinter and a Breeders' Cup Sprint winner, Precisionist was also victorious in races beyond a mile including Grade I races at 1¼ miles. In 1986, he won the Woodward Stakes over Lady's Secret (eventual Horse of the Year). In the fall, he and Turkoman were the heavy favorites for the Breeders' Cup Classic but ran third and second respectively to upset winner Skywalker. My Babu
My Babu (1945–1970) was a French-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who became one of the most influential sires in American breeding of show jumpers, eventers and hunters. His descendants include Bruce Davidson's former eventing mount JJ Babu, Anky van Grunsven's dressage horse Bonfire, and puissance and grand prix jumper Sympatico. Also, the grand prix jumper Napur is related to him through his sire Damascus dam Kerala. My Babu was the sire of Kerala, and therefore one of Napur's grandsires. Racing career During My Babu's racing career in England, the bay colt had 16 starts, 11 wins, 2 places, and 0 shows, with career earnings of £29,830. National Museum Of Racing And Hall Of Fame
The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame was founded in 1950 in Saratoga Springs, New York, to honor the achievements of American thoroughbred horse racing, Thoroughbred race horses, jockeys, and Horse trainer, trainers. In 1955, the museum moved to its current location on Union Avenue near Saratoga Race Course, at which time inductions into the hall of fame began. Each spring, following the tabulation of the final votes, the announcement of new inductees is made, usually during Kentucky Derby Week in early May. The actual inductions are held in mid-August during the Saratoga Race Course, Saratoga race meeting. Skywalker (March 4, 1982 – February 25, 2003) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He was best known for winning the 1986 Breeders' Cup Classic. Background Bred in Kentucky by Thomas P. The Breeders' Cup Classic is a Grade I Weight for Age thoroughbred horse race for 3-year-olds and older run at a distance of on dirt. It is held annually at a different racetrack in the United States as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships in late October or early November. Graded Stakes Race
A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America. A high grading can also be used by racetracks to promote the race in question. The Breeders' Cup World Championships is an annual series of Graded stakes race, Grade I Thoroughbred racing, Thoroughbred horse races, operated by Breeders' Cup Limited, a company formed in 1982.
