Praveen Gandhi
Praveen Gandhi (also credited as Praveenkanth) is an Indian film director, and actor known for his works in Tamil cinema. Career Praveen Gandhi entered the industry with the aim to become an actor. Since he lacked the background, he worked as the co-director for Priyadarshan. He was first given the opportunity to become a film maker by producer K. T. Kunjumon with ''Ratchagan'' (1997), who noted that in the director he saw "a young man who is very talented and full of ideas who was willing to work hard". The film was launched in January 1996 but filming only commenced the following year in January 1997, with an established cast and crew including Telugu actor Nagarjuna, Miss Universe pageant winner Sushmita Sen, Girish Karnad and A. R. Rahman. Prashanth Thiagarajan (born 6 April 1973), known professionally as Prashanth, is an Indian actor, businessman, playback singer and film producer known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. At the peak of his career in the late 1990s, Prashanth was one of the popular actors in South India. ''Pulipaarvai'' () is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Praveen Gandhi who also co-produced, composed and wrote all the songs and handled editing and art respectively. It is based on the real life of Balachandran Prabhakaran, the youngest son of the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, who is widely believed to have been executed after he surrendered to the Sri Lankan Army during the final stages of the Sri Lankan Civil War.
