Pratap Mullick
Pratap Mullick (1 July 1936 – 18 June 2007) was an Indian illustrator and comics artist. He was best known for illustrating Nagraj of Raj Comics which gained lot of popularity under him and was later handed to Anupam Sinha who made Nagraj an actual superhero. He worked for the Indian comic book series Amar Chitra Katha created by writer and editor Anant Pai. Mullick drew the first 50 issues of Nagraj from 1986 until 1995. He designed the comic-book character Supremo (based on movie star Amitabh Bachchan), who featured in a series published for two years in the 1980s. As a veteran illustrator, Mullick ran his own comics studio and training workshop in Pune. He was also the author of an art-instruction book ''Sketching'', which according to the publisher's website is "a condensation of Pratap Mulick’s life-long devotion to figure drawing and illustration". Anant Pai
Anant Pai (17 September 1929 – 24 February 2011), popularly known as Uncle Pai, was an Indian educationalist and a pioneer in Indian comics. He is most famous as the creator of two comic book series viz. ''Amar Chitra Katha'', which retold traditional Indian folk tales, mythological stories, and biographies of historical characters; and '' Tinkle'', a children's anthology. Milind Mulick
Milind Mulick () is a watercolour artist based in Pune, India. His work has been shown at exhibitions internationally as well as all over India. He has had an influence on new Indian painters such as Sujith Sudhi and Bijay Biswaal. Mulick has authored many books on painting and also teaches painting in India and internationally. Family and early life Milind is the son of famed Indian illustrator and comics artist Pratap Mulick. He started painting when he was five years old, and at the age of thirteen his watercolour landscapes earned him the National Talent Scholarship to study painting. Supremo (comics)
Supremo is an Indian comic book character in the series ''The Adventures of Amitabh Bachchan'' (in Hindi, किस्से अमिताभ के), published in the 1980s. The series was based on the actor Amitabh Bachchan. Supremo was created by Pammi Bakshi, editor of ''Movie'' magazine, who developed the series for her magazine's publisher, India Book House (IBH), under their imprint Star Comics. In an interview, Pammi Bakshi stated that the name Supremo came about from actor Randhir Kapoor's tag for superstar Bachchan. Amar Chitra Katha (ACK Comics) is an Indian comic book publisher, based in Mumbai, India. The company was founded in 1967 by Anant Pai. Most of its comics are based on religious legends and epics, historical figures and biographies, folktales and cultural stories. Creation and influence The comic series was started by Anant Pai in an attempt to teach Indian children about their cultural heritage. He was shocked that Indian students could answer questions on Greek and Roman mythology, but were ignorant of their own history, mythology and folklore.
