Pranay Sahay is an Indian Police Service officer of the 1975 batch and was the Director General of Police of the Central Reserve Police Force, the largest paramilitary force in India. He was the Director General of Police (DG) of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) before the CRPF posting. Central Reserve Police Force
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is a federal police organisation in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs (India), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India. It is one among the Central Armed Police Forces. The CRPF's primary role lies in assisting the State/Union Territories in police operations to maintain law and order and counter-insurgency. It is composed of Central Reserve Police Force (Regular army, Regular) and Central Reserve Police Force (Auxiliaries, Auxiliary). It came into existence as the Crown Representative's Police on 27 July 1939. Sashastra Seema Bal
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB; ) is a border guarding force of India deployed along its borders with Nepal and Bhutan. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The force was originally set up under the name Special Service Bureau in 1963 in the aftermath of the Sino-Indian War to strengthen India's border areas against enemy operations.
