Bangs (North American English), or a fringe (British English), are strands or locks of hair that fall over the scalp's front hairline to cover the forehead, usually just above the eyebrows, though can range to various lengths. Hairstyles echoed this, and were worn slightly longer, often in a pageboy. During World War II, it was fashionable to grow one's hair long again, but longer bobs were still in fashion, often with victory rolls Victory rolls are a women's hairstyle that was popular from 1940 to 1945, with a recent rise during the 21st century, characterized by voluminous curls of hair that are either on top of the head or frame the face.
