Prakash Ram is three time elected member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Latehar. 2005 Jharkhand assembly election Prakash Ram won the 2005 Jharkhand assembly election from Latehar constituency on the ticket of Rashtriya Janata Dal. 2009 Jharkhand assembly election In 2009 he was defeated by BJP candidate Baidyanath Ram just on the margin of five hundred votes. 2014 Jharkhand assembly election In 2014 assembly election he contested on the ticket of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) from Latehar (Vidhan Sabha constituency) and regained the mandate of people of constituency. In 2018, Prakash Ram was suspended from his party because of cross-voting in Rajya Sabha poll. Party leader Babulal Marandi wrote a letter to election commission to nullify the vote of Prakash Ram as he has voted against the party. Latehar
Latehar is a town in the Latehar district of Jharkhand, India. It is known for its natural environment, forest, forest products and mineral deposits. Latehar remained a part of Palamau District as a sub division since 1924. It was elevated from sub divisional status to a district on 4 April 2001, vide Jharkhand Government Notification No 946 dated 04.04.2001. Latehar is located on the north–west corner of Jharkhand in the Palamau Commissionary. It is surrounded by Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, Palamu and Chatra district apart from Chhattisgarh state. 45.54% of the population belonging to the scheduled tribes. The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD; translation: National People's Party) is an Indian political party, mainly based in the state of Bihar. The party was founded in 1997 by Lalu Prasad Yadav. Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM (P)) ( 'Jharkhand Development Front (Democratic)') was a state political party in the Indian state of Jharkhand which was founded by former Union Minister and First Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Babulal Marandi. Babulal Marandi
Babulal Marandi (; born 11 January 1958) is an Indian politician and a prominent tribal leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) . He is currently the Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand legislative assembly. He was the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand and the founder of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik), which he later merged with BJP. He was the Member of Parliament in 12th, 13th 14th and 15th Lok Sabha from Jharkhand.
