The National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire, has a large and diverse collection of heritage tramcars, and aims to illustrate the complete development of the traditional British Tramcar. National Tramway Museum
The National Tramway Museum, operating under the name Crich Tramway Village, is a transport museum located at Crich (), in the Peak District of the English county of Derbyshire. The museum's collection of trams is officially designated as being of national importance and encompasses the 1860s to the present day. The museum is set within a reconstructed historic village, featuring a traditional public house, café, period-style sweetshop, and a tram depot. Many of the trams are fully operational and provide rides for visitors along a scenic route that runs through the village and into the surrounding countryside. Port Soderick
Port Soderick () is a small hamlet to the south of Douglas, capital of the Isle of Man, once famed for its pleasure grounds and beach. In later years there have been various attempts to rejuvenate the area, all of which have been unsuccessful to date. It still has a station on the steam railway. The beach area had its own small promenade and hotel (later named "The Anchor" but now closed and abandoned), a suspended walkway (now closed and deemed unsafe), former oyster beds, and a sea lion pool, a large building formerly housing an amusement arcade, paddling pool (long since filled in by shingle from the incoming tide), and access to the nearby glen of the same name. These days the place is something of a ghost town, disturbed only by the occasional dog walker, but it once had its own funicular railway linking the sea level resort with the Douglas Head Marine Drive Railway atop the cliffs above, the remnants of which can still be traced today. Douglas Head (Manx: ''Kione Ghoolish'') is a rocky point on the Isle of Man overlooking Douglas Harbour, Douglas Bay and harbour. Views extend to include Snaefell Mountain and Laxey. General Until 1870, the headland was owned by The Nunnery, Douglas, The Nunnery Estate when Sir John Goldie-Taubman gave part of it to 'the people of Douglas' by donating it to Douglas Town Council. A toast rack is a serving piece with several vertical partitions connected to a flat base, used for holding slices of toast. The term ''toast rack'' is also used in other fields, notably railways and architectural design, to describe objects resembling a toast rack. By maintaining air gaps between the slices, the toast rack allows water vapor to escape from hot toast instead of condensing into adjacent slices and making them soggy. Lord Baltimore (streetcar Truck)
The Lord Baltimore was a design of electric streetcar truck dating from in 1896. It was built by the Baltimore Car Wheel Company of Baltimore, Maryland, Baltimore in the US state of Maryland. It is easily identified by the ''Lord Baltimore'' lettering on the truck's side frames. The truck was used on a number of streetcars in the United States, and the Baltimore Streetcar Museum now own several examples. At least one was exported and fitted to cars of the Douglas Southern Electric Tramway on the Isle of Man. That line's Douglas Southern Electric Tramway No. 1, car no. 1 and its truck are now preserved and displayed at the UK's National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire.
