Prabhu Chauhan
Prabhu Bamala Chauhan (born 6 July 1969) is an Indian politician who is the current Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Department of Karnataka from 20 August 2019 in B.S.Yediyurappa cabinet. Later he has also sworn in as cabinet minister on 4 August 2020 for a second time in Basavaraj Bommai cabinet and the same portfolio has been allotted. He is a current Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Aurad Assembly constituency, since 2008 and he was the Minister in charge of the Bidar district. In Basavaraj Bommai Cabinet he was made Minister in charge of the Yadgiri district. He has been elected to Karnataka assembly from Aurad, a reserved constituency in 2008 by defeating incumbent MP of Bidar Mr. Narsingrao Suryawanshi. The Government of Karnataka, abbreviated as, GoK, or simply Karnataka Government, is a democratically-elected state body with the governor as the ceremonial head to govern the Southwest Indian state of Karnataka. Bidar District
Bidar district is the northernmost part of the Karnataka state in India. The administrative headquarters of district is Bidar city. Geographically, it resembles the "Crown of the State", occupying its northeastern end. It is bounded by Kamareddy and Sangareddy districts of Telangana state on the eastern side, Latur and Osmanabad districts of Maharashtra state on the western side, Nanded district of Maharashtra state on the northern side and Kalaburagi district on the southern side. The Bidar district is constituted by eight talukas, namely Bidar, Humnabad, Bhalki, Aurad, Hulsoor, Chitgoppa, Kamalnagar and Basavakalyan with Bidar being the headquarters of the district. 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 12 May 2018 in 222 constituencies to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The election was postponed in Jayanagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar, following the death of the MLA B. N. Vijaya Kumar and a voter fraud scandal respectively till 28 May. The election saw a voter turnout of 72.13 per cent, the highest in Karnataka since 1952 Mysore Legislative Assembly election, 1952 assembly polls. The counting of votes took place on 15 May 2018. 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 5 May 2013 to elect members from 223 constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. Five major political parties contested the election: Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)), B. S. Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) and B. Sriramulu's Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress (BSRCP). Though Karnataka has 224 assembly constituencies, elections were held only for 223 seats. The election for the Piriyapatna constituency was postponed to 28 May 2013 due to the death of the BJP candidate for the seat. The voter turnout in the state was 70.23%. Narsingrao Hullaji Suryawanshi (born January 20, 1952) is an Indian senior statesman who served as Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Bidar four times. He belongs to the Indian National Congress party. Early life Narsingrao Suryawanshi was born in Dongaon village of Aurad Taluk in Bidar District. Suryawanshi and his siblings are children of farmers. He completed and earned a B.Sc. degree at Marathwada University, Aurangabad (Maharashtra) in 1974. Career After graduating, he became a social worker. 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election took place in three phases on 10, 16 and 22 May 2008 in all the 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka, India. The elections were conducted to elect a Government in the state of Karnataka for the next five years. The votes were counted on 25 May and due to the use of electronic voting machines, all the results were out by the afternoon itself. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious winning 110 seats. Although the party fell short of a clear majority, it was able to form the government with the support of 6 independents. This was the first time BJP came to power on its own in Karnataka and any south Indian state.
