Prabhakar Pendharkar
Prabhakar Pendharkar (1933–2010) was a Marathi writer. He was the son of film personality and director Bhalji Pendharkar. He worked under his father in the film sector and later in V. Shantaram's studio, Rajkamal. Pendharkar started his writing career with the magazine '' Deepavali''. He also published various novels like ''Arey Sansar Sansar'', ''Rarang Dhang'' and ''Chakrivadal''. His long story ''Pratiksha'' received an award. Pendharkar was credited in films including ''Toofan Aur Deeya'' (1956) as Assistant Director. In 1981, he also directed Marathi film ''Bal Shivaji''. Marathi Writer
Marathi literature is the body of literature of Marathi Language, Marathi, an Indo-Aryan languages, Indo-Aryan language spoken mainly in the Indian state of Maharashtra and written in the Devanagari and Modi script. History Ancient Era Maharashtri Prakrit was the southern Prakrit that was spoken in the banks of Narmada and Godavari. Maharashtri was an offshoot of Vedic Sanskrit. The earliest example of Maharashtri as a separate language dates to approximately 3rd century BCE: a stone inscription found in a cave at Naneghat, Junnar in Pune district had been written in Maharashtri using Brahmi script. A committee appointed by the Maharashtra State Government to get the Classical status for Marathi has claimed that Marathi existed at least 2300 years ago. Bhalji Pendharkar
Bhalji Pendharkar (3 May 1897 – 26 November 1994) was a film personality in India, and recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the most prestigious award in the field. Early life and family Born to Radhabai and her husband Dr Gopal Pendharkar in a Brahmin family, Bhalji was related to quite a few film personalities in Indian film industry. A number of his close relations achieved fame in the Indian film industry. They include his elder brother Baburao Pendharkar, half-brother and actor-Director, Master Vinayak Karnataki, and maternal cousin V Shantaram. Personal life Bhalji had two wives. One of whom, Leela Chandragiri, acted and sang in Hindi and Marathi films in 1930s under the name Miss Leela. Leela-bai already had two children when she first met Bhalji.
