''Power & Politics'' is a Canadian television news program focused on national politics, which airs live daily on CBC News Network from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time weekdays and as a syndicated podcast. The program is produced from the CBC Ottawa Production Centre in Ottawa. History The program launched on October 26, 2009, as a replacement for the long-running ''CBC News: Politics'', which had ended its run the preceding May with the retirement of host Don Newman (broadcaster), Don Newman. The new program was initially hosted by CBC journalist Evan Solomon. In September 2011, Rosemary Barton was added as host of the program's Friday edition after Solomon was also named host of CBC Radio One's ''The House (radio), The House''. 2009 Canadian Television Series Debuts

''Power Play'' is a Canadian public affairs television program which airs weekdays on CTV News Channel. Interviews are conducted with important Canadian political figures as well as political journalists and strategists. The program broadcasts from Parliament Hill, and debuted on February 2, 2009. Its original host was Tom Clark; upon his departure from the network in September 2010, it was hosted on a week-by-week basis by various Bell Media journalists, including Jane Taber and Roger Smith, until CTV announced that Don Martin, a newspaper columnist, would become the new host of ''Power Play'' starting in mid-December 2010.
