Præstø () is a town with a population of 3,880 (1 January 2024) in Vordingborg Municipality in Region Sjælland on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand (''Sjælland''). The islands of Maderne, Storeholm, and Lilleholm are part of the wildlife reserves (''Præstø Fjord Vildtreservat''). History Præstø became crown property in 1353. In 1304, it was incorporated as a market town. Præstø was the seat of the former Præstø municipality (Danish language, Danish, ''Municipalities of Denmark, kommune''). As of January 1, 2007, Præstø municipality ceased to exist as the result of Municipalities of Denmark#Municipal Reform 2007, ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). ''The Last Exploits of the Olsen Gang'' () is a 1974 Danish comedy film directed by Erik Balling and starring Ove Sprogøe, Morten Grunwald, Poul Bundgaard and Kirsten Walther. This was the sixth film in the Olsen Gang-series, and at the time of production it was meant to be the last. It was selected as the Danish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 47th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. ''The Rector of Veilbye'' () is a crime mystery written in 1829 by the Danish author Steen Steensen Blicher. The novella is based upon a true murder case from 1626 in the village of Vejlby near Grenå, Denmark, which Blicher knew partly from Erik Pontoppidan's Danish Church History (1741), and partly through oral tradition. ''The Olsen Gang'' () is a 1968 Danish comedy film directed by Erik Balling and starring Ove Sprogøe, Morten Grunwald, and Poul Bundgaard. This was the first film in the ''Olsen-banden''-series. Plot The plot involves the Olsen Gang as they plan to become millionaires. The film starts by Egon being arrested for trying to rob a store, while the others, Kjeld and Benny, run away. After Egon is set free, the gang plan on stealing a golden statue which is worth 12 million. After some planning, the gang sets the plan in action and steal the golden statue. On their way to the airport, their car runs out of gas and the police come take the car (with the statue in it). Constantly chased by Mortensen, they manage to get the statue back and hide it in Kjeld's daughter's pram.
